    The Saab 9-2X was introduced in the 2005 model year. The 9-2X is available only as a wagon.

Restraints/dummy kinematics

    Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head brushed the B-pillar.

Injury measures

    Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity. Head acceleration from the B-pillar hit was negligible.

    The Saab 9-2X was introduced in the 2005 model year, equipped with standard side airbags using the same design as in the Impreza.
    Beginning 9-2X models, a reinforcement was added to the the pillar behind each rear passenger door to improve occupant protection in side impact crashes.
    The 9-2X is available only as a wagon.

    Rear passenger - Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Head protection

    Driver - The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side airbag that deployed from the seat.
    Rear passenger - The dummy's head was hit by the pillar behind the rear passenger door. This pillar is required by federal standard to provide some protection for occupants' heads.
